How to prepare
A short plan for this job fair, based on its format, audience and details.
Before the fair
- Check the official page for the list of employers attending, then pick 3 to 5 you most want to meet.
- Know your co-op or internship dates and your graduation date. Employers will ask.
- Describe your military experience in civilian terms: leadership, logistics, safety and training all translate well.
- Put your portfolio or GitHub link on your resume, and add a QR code so employers can open it on the spot.
- Practise a 30-second introduction: who you are, what you do well and the kind of role you want next.
- Update your resume so the top third shows the roles and skills you want to talk about at this fair.
At the fair
- Arrive by 10:45 a.m., about 15 minutes before the start, when lines are short and employers are fresh.
- Open with your 30-second introduction, then ask what the team is hiring for right now.
- After each conversation, write down the person's name, the role you discussed and what to follow up on.
- Ask about new-graduate programs, co-op terms and when applications open. Many close months before the start date.

- Apply online to the roles employers pointed you to, and mention that you met them at the fair.
- Connect on LinkedIn with a short note reminding them where you met.
