  4. Log in to the Applicant Portal and upload documents such as proof of citizenship, residency or work permit, a Vulnerable Sector Check, and if applicable evidence of passing the approved examination.

  5. The CRTO conducts a detailed review of your education program, for which you complete an Education Program Review Worksheet and submit it with supporting documentation such as course outlines and curriculum.

  6. After the program review, attend a structured interview conducted by two Respiratory Therapists contracted by the CRTO who compare your knowledge, skills and experience against the NCF competencies.

Do you need a licence to work as a respiratory therapist in Ontario?

Yes. Registration with The College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario is required to practise in Ontario, and to use the title Respiratory Therapist, GRT or RRT.
